About Cerice

A second-generation belly dancer, Cerice was captivated by the magnetism of raqs sharqi (bellydancing) from a young age, and it came as no surprise when she decided to follow her mother and take up the veils and zills herself. She first began formal classes in 1990 under the skilled tutelage of Saphira (Tampa, FL), and has never looked back.

A second- generation belly dancer, Cerice was captivated by belly dance from a young age.

She co-founded the highly successful, Tampa-based Troupe Amani Dance Ensemble and served as co-director for its 8 year duration. She co-founded served as co-director for the student performance troupe Bal Fahjar beginning in 2002. She currently directs Troupe Bal Hepsi, Troupe Bal Fahjar, and is a member of Troupe Zahara.

Cerice specializes in Turkish, American Cabaret, Egyptian, Lebanese, American Tribal Style as well as the tribal fusion offshoot styles of belly dance; skilled with swords, canes, zills, veils, and balanced props, her performances are joyful, dynamic, and express her devotion, technical skill, and experience.

Presently she regularly teaches and performs at various locations throughout the Tampa Bay area. She and her fellow troupe members are all professional dancers who love to perform and have the utmost respect for the cultures and people who support this family-friendly art form.
